C'lan is currently busy, working away in "Under the Bed" studios, his own studio bought for him by his record company, after the release of his first album. Although C'lan is an undeniably talented musician, his direction still seems to be somewhat blurred to his listeners. It's as if he can't decide whether he's a dance fan or a rock n'roll one. And although many may wonder why, in the 90's someone still has to make this kind of decision, it is because although it is very idyllic to believe that one can do both, audiences of every genre are very finicky about the records they chose to buy, and even more so about the concerts they pay their hard earned money to go and see. And it is unlikely that C'lan fans, no matter how dedicated, will be willing to sit through selections of music that they would not even be inclined to listen to at home. Here lies the commercial catch 22

Many belive that C'lan could go either way as far as the direction he takes commercially. He definitely has that natural charisma and appeal to take him the distance as far as merchandising and things of that sort. However he refuses to make video's. He finds that they water down the intentions of the song. "If listen to Bono or Dave Gahan singing a song that mean something to you in your life. And then you see them on the television walking around in some obviously fictitious circumstance, it's going to move the song from the real to the recreational side of your life. That suits some music hand and glove, and if that day ever comes for me, you will see a C'lan video, but as for now that's not the case. And to be quite honest - it's not hurting me at all commercially, or you would have already seen a C'lan video before now".
